THE WORLD OF MOTHER GOOSE
Judy Anderson, Cobble Hill (30 minutes) * young children & family *
Colourful…charming…a wee bit silly…and a little absent minded…with pockets full of fun. Baskets of surprises and a trunk packed with puppets and toys. Mother Goose weaves a crazy collection of stories and tales around familiar nursery rhymes and songs.
Meet the puppets & make a butterfly or dove between the shows.
11:00 am
KOLOBOK
Vancouver Puppet Theatre (15 minutes) * ages 1 to 10 *
Kolobok is based on the traditional Russian folktale with the same name. The plot is similar to The Gingerbread Man in the English tradition.

SHADOW PUNCHO – a shadow magic show
David Gifford, Victoria (30 minutes) * family *
David Gifford is renowned for his musically accompanied magic performances that appeal to audiences ranging from the enthusiastic and curious to the skeptical. When he is not thrilling audiences with feats of prestidigitation, he can be found in his yard, making statues and paintings, which have been displayed in the salons of Vancouver, Oslo, and Moosenee. Some critics have described his handcrafted, musically accompanied magic show as “Fantastico!”

THE MESSAGE IS THE MESS and
THE DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF THE LITTLE LUMEN
Moth Orbit Object Theatre, Vancouver (30 minutes)
* not recommended for small children *
MOOT is a moth-eaten monument built of found objects and rejected materials. Re-imagined and re-animated, trash becomes treasure and static materials become spirited. Each act of puppetry holds a mirror to the existential condition and suggests a solution: it is possible to remain enchanted despite an awareness of the mechanisms at play.
